Biography

Lisa Bostwick has had pieces exhibited at the Legion of Honor, Napa Valley Museum, Marin Museum of Contemporary Art and the de Young Museum. Her North American Wildlife series celebrates the American treasure that is such a vital part of the American West. Having lived in Colorado and a frequent visitor to Montana and Wyoming, the artist considers painting a process to keep this landscape and vision alive in her spirit and for the viewer. Each Painting is an act of creative freedom tethered to the energy and awe provided by these beautiful creatures. In the end, her goal is not just to capture the Bison or Moose but to create a rich landscape of presence through gesture, color and subtle movement. Lisa has three ongoing bodies of work: North American Wildlife, American Flags, and Mid-Century Architecture with Pools. She is a graduate of the San Francisco Art Institute and has helped inspire and train thousands of teenagers in her parallel career as an arts educator.
