Biography
Daphne Sweet is a contemporary artist based in Butte, Montana. Born in Los Angeles, she was raised in an environment shaped by strong matriarchal figures with artistic inclinations. The stories and creative experiences shared with these women served as the foundation of Sweet’s artistic journey.

Sweet’s artistic practice involves a fusion of personal narrative and mythology, expressed through a diverse range of mediums including painting, watercolor, drawing, clothing, and ceramics. Regardless of the medium or surface, the consistent thread in her work is the strong connection to her illustrations and distinctive rendering style. Sweet's work encompasses intricate brushwork and 2-dimensionality reminiscent of illuminated manuscripts. It echoes themes and stylized figures characteristic of the High Renaissance and embraces the dynamic movement synonymous with Rococo.

Having pursued education in studio art and art history at the University of Montana, Sweet's work has been exhibited nationally. Her artistic footprint extends from galleries in New York City to murals in Miami.
