Austin artist Jules Buck Jones masterfully draws graphic, fantastical depictions of hybridized animal forms. Influenced by ecological and biological concerns, Jones crafts imagery of bizarre and fantastical occurrences in nature. He uses a broad scope of time (past, present, and future) and narrative sources (mythology, fact, and fiction), with the animal kingdom as his central subject.
Jones' academic background includes an MFA in Painting from the University of Texas at Austin (2008) and an MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University (2005). In 2009, he served as an artist in residence at the Everglades National Park.
