Biography
Will Lee-Ashley is a mixed media artist based in Denver, Colorado. He creates artwork using various materials, such as layers of spray paint, pencils, traditional oil washes on wood or canvas, and incorporates photography or other elements. His artistic inspiration stems from both the natural beauty of Colorado's mountains and plains, and the industrial areas surrounding Denver's RiNo district. His artistic style draws from sources like The University of Chicago Booth School of Business writer Elizabeth Kolbert, visual artist Jean-Michel Basquiat, and multimedia artist William Kentridge. Lee-Ashley's artwork delves into both personal aspects, such as raising his two children, and broader societal issues like race. His art has been featured in three solo exhibitions in Denver within the past four years. He also holds the position of chief of staff for the Denver Public Schools system, managing the district's communications, government affairs, and outreach efforts.
